If you like Lifetime Movies, then boy, is this the book for you!

This book started out really strong for me, and I was loving it. Then, somewhere around the 40%-50% mark, the eye rolling started.

I am NOT a fan of romance novels and Lifetime movies, and that is what this story turned out to be.

I won't rehash the story as it's already been done here a million times, but its extremely predictable. I could see from a mile away what had happened to the original Anne, and I was correct. Liam is a very cardboard bad guy, so it wasn't a surprise when things unfolded the way they did.

I flew through the first half of this book in about 2 days, but the second half took me about 6 days to get through. The only reason I kept going was to see if Anne would stay in 1922, or return to 2001.

I will say, the ending was satisfying. I wasn't sure which way it would go, but I was really happy with how everything wrapped up.

While I didn't love this book, I know a lot of people who will, so I'll absolutely recommend it to them, but it just wasn't my kind of story.

This book really surprised me, and it makes me so glad that I bought a Kindle and managed to find all these terrific authors. After being in a bit of a "romance novel" rut, where I could feel all the dreamy tropes eating away at my brain. "What the Wind Knows" is such a nice surprise of literary triumph that dabbles slightly at a deep burn romance, bringing me much joy and love for Ireland. It checks all my boxes for a wonderful historical fiction: time travel, historic facts weaved in with fiction, a lovely HE romance, and W.B. Yeats! Loved the incorporation of Yeats in every chapter and also those of the Irish folktales. What a refreshing read!

I enjoyed What the Wind Knows by Amy Harmon. I was a little nervous based on some reviews that it was going to be an Outlander copy cat. While there are similarities, I feel like there was enough in this story to make it different.

I didn't have a good connection with Anne, and truthfully I didn't feel like she was all that likable. I didn't hate her as a character, but she wasn't a selling point for me. I was much more interested in the historical aspect of the story and Thomas's journal entries. The time travel aspect was interesting, but I found her being mistaken for her great grandmother a little odd.

The inclusion of WB Yeats' poetry was a nice touch, and I liked how it was incorporated into the story.

I picked up this book because someone said it reminded them of Peaky Blinders but I was getting more Outlander vibes from it. Either way, it was an enjoyable Irish historical fiction with some magical realism hints. I loved the way it all came together and that really sealed the deal because it really could have gone any way. Amy Harmon really did well in capturing the feeling that comes along with truly loving someone. It was sweet.
