I absolutely loved this ending of the book series. The author just knows how to lead a reader on a wrong path and there were so many things that were confusing at first, but in the end, when all the dots were connected, it suddenly all made sense! Also, I loved the plot twists, most of it I really didn’t see coming!
My only slight critic is, that the protagonist was a little bit annoying in some parts, but I can overlook that.

This book was not a great ending to this duology. I am actually pretty disappointed with this one. The Main Character went from being a strong woman discovering who she was to a relationship driven silly girl. I didn’t give it a lower score because at least she did care about her family.

What a ride, hermano. Este libro tuvo sus momentos fenomenales, y sus momentos donde prefería hacer cualquier cosa antes de continuar con la lectura. No creo que haya sido mejor que su predecesor, y si bien el final es demasiado abierto para mi gusto, no necesariamente me disgustó. (Aunque estaba muy preocupada cuando íbamos por el capítulo 29 de 32 y todavía no entendía quién era quién y por qué estaba pasando lo que estaba pasando lol pensé que la revelación y la resolución iban a ser muy apresuradas, pero al final me preocupé al pedo xd)
Lo que me gustó mucho de este libro es la cantidad de secretos que hay. No sólo los secretos en sí eran interesantes, sino también el cómo Alyssa se va enterando de ellos. Todo el tema de Riley y Smith like omg no estaba entiendo nada pero al mismo tiempo no podía dejar de leer el libro porque omg !! El hecho de que Alyssa y Smith fueran mejores amigos en el pasado, si bien me pareció sorprendente e inesperado, también me pareció al re pedo ¿? teniendo en cuenta que no le dan mucha bola a ese tema después de que ellos se enteran de la verdad.
El personaje de Riley me pareció bellísimo. Desde que aparece por primera vez estaba tipo "omg qué onda cuándo aparece de nuevo". Todo lo relacionado a él se me hizo fenomenal y sumamente atrapante.
Pero también hubieron muchas cosas que me molestaron. Éstas son:
a) el hecho de que hubiera tantos personajes con habilidades fenomenales que casi no aparecen. Dante, que puede leer mentes, y Liana (TREMENDO personaje con tremendo potencial que no supieron aprovechar) que te predice el futuro. Si bien Riley aparece bastante, no vimos su poder en acción en ningún momento, y es tremendo poder bro; lo mismo con la mamá de Alyssa. Si bien vimos el poder de Smith en acción en más de una ocasión, me hubiera gustado verlo todavía más seguido porque su poder es, en mi opinión, uno de los más interesantes de todos.
b) La falta de Enzo que hay en este libro. Aparece 2 veces, y en una de esas sólo por una página. Su personaje fue uno de mis favoritos del libro anterior, y tenía una forma de ser muy peculiar y llamativa. Fue una lástima que casi no estuviera en este libro. Y también me hubiera gustado que todo su tema con Dante se resolviera, y no que lo terminaran tan abiertamente.
c) Hay un par de cosas técnicas de la narrativa que me molestan. Por ejemplo, nos explican que Alyssa se olvida de la existencia de su hermano porque Kael (ya que el padre ya no era un Creador) utiliza el poder de Riley, le cambia la intención y así hizo que ella lo olvidara. ¿Pero, y Vanik? ¿Y Smith? ¿Por qué ellos no se acuerdan de Riley, si ni Jeremiah ni Kael tienen el poder de hacerlos olvidar? Otra cosa medio extraña es el hecho de que SCARS, una compañía legal que trabaja para el gobierno con el fin de proteger e investigar a los Speakers, sabe de la existencia de Lenguard, una instalación ilegal... e igual no hacen nada para detenerlos, incluso cuando cuentan con las herramientas necesarias. ¿? Why.
d) La revelación de Kael. I mean, técnicamente no me molestó porque, si bien fue completamente inesperada y me decepcionó que mi personaje fav fuera malo, su traición no estuvo justificada erróneamente. Meaning, la explicación que dan de por qué es malo, no es cualquier cosa. Entonces es creíble el hecho de que fuera un villano. Nevertheless, me dolió que él y Alyssa no terminaran juntos :(( pero bueno al menos se dieron dos besos ja en tu cara Ward.
e) Alyssa en este libro fue medio insoportable. Cuando no puede dejar de pensar en su hermano y va y despierta a todo el mundo ??? tipo egoísta de mierda calmate jaja no sos tan importante, deja dormir a la gente en paz. Lo mismo cuando al final logra controlar su nuevo poder al toque tipo... tardaste todo el libro anterior para controlar tu habilidad vieja y ¿en éste sólo tardas un capítulo? Fue sumamente decepcionante.
Overall, no fue un mal libro. El principio fue medio lento, pero una vez que apareció Riley no podía dejar de leer, porque constantemente quería saber qué iba a pasar. Duología completamente recomendable, principalmente el primer libro.

The first book was better. All the hard work and great character development was tossed in a dumpster fire this book. Also- to the people who said there were plot twists...
It may have just been me- but I saw them a miiiiiiiiiiiile away. Terrible. Cheesey. And the evil good for ABSOLUTELY nothing doctor is going to be 'redeemed' at the last minute?!! Hell no. Burn those ass holes to the ground.

3.5* I still super-enjoyed this and read it in one night/morning because I was hooked.
It did have a few more too-convenient plot points than book one. I felt like book 1 was all about what we didn't know in this story, and book 2 followed up by providing too many explanations. It definitely wasn't necessary for EVERYONE to have been so connected in their prior (forgotten) lives. It seemed like everyone involved in the story was related, best friends, or dating. It just seemed too close and tied-up, especially given how large-scale the Speakers were meant to be, they could have been connected by that fact alone.
Apart from that, I found this pretty much as engaging, easy to read, and well-paced as Whisper.
I did like that when Alyssa realises her true power she still struggles with control, and knowing how to wield it, and that, after everything, she still asks about training. I think a lot of stories like this have that realization moment followed by crazy power/abilities that just work perfectly. It seems more realistic to me that there would still be a learning curve, so I appreciated that being clear.
My main criticism is that ending lacking a kiss, wtf? It was SO CLOSE and they DIDN'T KISS. Honestly the worst, I was so ready for the cheesy cute ending (It was still cute but they should have kissed).
