This collection of short stories was great overall. There were very few that I wasn't interested in. Edwards did an amazing job of stringing several themes through many of the stories without rehashing or making any of them redundant. I found many of the tales to be quite memorable both in their content and style. I highly recommend this collection to anyone who introspective tales, collision of cultures, or feminist literature.

Kim Edwards writes gorgeous, vivid prose but her short stories depressed the bejeezus out of me!

Was relieved when I got to the end of this..on to happier reading I hope!

Some memorable stories, others felt like placeholders.

A couple of these stories were pretty good, but on the whole, a so-so collection. The first story, being written in first person, felt a little appropriation-y to me.
