When a friend of mine sent this to me as a gift, it was originally suppose to go to my oldest daughter who is seventeen. She loves graphic novels and manga, so I thought this might be a great little surprise for her. When I saw the cover of this book though, I thought the artwork was amazing and decided to give it a try.

I will admit -- while waiting for things to be thrown at me -- that I have not read the original series that this is based on. I am behind the times so to speak in the urban fantasy world. I have to say that this graphic novel didn't give me much insight into the original world. It left me with questions that would probably be addressed in the original works of fiction. So the story in the graphic novel wasn't as strong as I was hoping it would be in clearing up some confusion.

Now let me talk about the artwork. The cover is gorgeous. I fell in love with the cover at first sight and I am still in love with it. The artwork though on the pages -- which is done by someone else -- was seriously lacking in my opinion. The art didn't portray the emotions that I was reading about in some frames. I also wasn't a fan of the character renditions either.

Fans of graphic novels and author Patricia Briggs will definitely want to add it to their collections, but as for casual reading of this art, I would recommend starting with a different one.

I have to admit, I pretty much hated the art in this. Sometimes Anna looked like a man. Sometimes, Charles looked like a caricature. Bran and Samuel? Don't even get me started. And there were times when Anna's expressions were just so wrong. Words that I'd taken one way when I read the book - humorous, sarcastic, whatever - suddenly became aggressive and argumentative. I didn't like that.

I did think that they did a really good job of slipping in all the background information, though. The story flowed pretty smoothly, and I was very happy with that.

I just wish that the art hadn't been so terrible. :(

I love the Alpha & Omega novels, and this graphic novel adaptation is fine... but doesn't really capture the complexity or romance of the main relationship in the story. Plus, I found the artwork somewhat distracting. The style is too cartoon-ish for my taste, so that Charles and Anna weren't nearly as appealing as I thought they should be. I enjoyed seeing another take on the story, but the graphic novel just didn't work for me as a whole.

Not a fan of the artwork, it's very inconsistent ... but I enjoyed it all the same.

The art wasnt very good. I was hoping thr art wouldve been really well done or some new aspects of the story added. But its just a retelling of the novel with not great art unfortunately.

The art was terrible. The writing? Terrible. This adaptation was a poor choice for Cry Wolf. Honestly it was perhaps the worst book to comic adaptation I've ever read.
