I am obsessed with this book. I’m not usually drawn to romance books but one like this, top tier for me.

Two teens meet who are both troubled and rightfully so. Absolutely tragic what they each went through before 17. They fell into messy, teenage love that ended before it really began. Rightfully so (even though the reason was devastating), can you imagine how they might have turned out if they were together into adulthood? Individually they went on into and through adulthood without each other, and overcame their “demons,” became incredible people, but they always wondered about the other. Both became writers and basically communicated to each other through their main characters. I loved their whole story.

What had me hooked throughout the whole book was the banter between all the characters. It was funny, and heartfelt. It flowed so well. The character development through the entire book was, *chef’s kiss*. Not sure if I have ever read a book where I either, adored or was utterly intrigued by every single person.

The writing about Eva’s invisible disability was so respectful, accurate, and thoughtfully done.

So many layers to this novel and it left me both satisfied and wanting more. I don’t normally like sequels or series but I’d love to read more about Ava, her cool ass daughter Audre, and Shane.

Loved this from start to finish. Way funnier than I was expecting from the blurb but totally immersive. Managed to touch on major issues such as disability, racism and familial relationships in an emotional way without weighing the whole book down.

I have no idea where to start in all honesty. This is literally one of the best books I ever read, full of beautifully complex characters who are struggling but never stop learning and growing.
