What a great debut! I enjoyed pretty much everything about this book. Relatively good pacing with a solid plot. I really gravitated towards the protagonists we follow (specifically Chrys and Laurel). The side characters were solid too. Very interesting magic system, even if it feels derivative of Mistborn and Stormlight magic systems.
I also enjoyed the worldbuilding, but that's probably my main criticism of the book as well. The world feels a bit too small. It doesn't feel quite lived in. But that feeling progressively diminished as we visited other locations on the map, and the epilogue certainly opens the world as well. Really enjoyable read!
