I didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did. I thought it’d be predictable and not really my style. But despite my expectations, the book had me hooked within a couple of pages. I loved guessing along with the characters about what would happen and how they would solve each mystery.
What I do have to say though, is that the book sometimes feels like a teen drama show. This is not a bad thing (one look at my old tumblr reveals how much I obsessed over teen drama shows, so yeah, definitely not a bad thing) but I still wanted to point it out.
The only reason I didn’t give the book five stars is the fact that I don’t really vibe with love triangles. So far it wasn’t even all that bad, but love triangles just always leave a bad taste in my mouth. But oh well, I’ll see what happens in the next book.
See, that’s another positive thing about the book, I didn’t wait a single second after finishing the book, before I ordered the sequel.

Oh my god. Wow. Wow wow wow! I regret not reading this book sooner. It is so. Stinking. Good. I like to think I’m pretty good at predicting endings, but this one through me for a loop! I had nooooo idea what was going to happen throughout the entire book. Twists, mysteries, and suspense kept  me turning up until literally the very last page. I’m obsessed. I’m starting book two immediately. Good bye, sleep!

I honestly was hoping more for this book as it was recommended by someone who recommended it in the same conversation as A discussion of Knives Out.  The book is just a series of toxic conversations and relationships.  I just didn’t get the appeal

This book was alright.

It reminds me a little of a book a read when I was in elementary school called The Westing Game, but with a smidge of reverse harem trope thrown in and it was clearly written for a YA audience so all the romance bits were pretty cringe.

Favorite character was probably Oren the bodyguard.  Will likely read the next book because I'm curious where it will go with the puzzles and mysteries, but skim the romance bits since I don't care about the main characters enough.

This book was… okay. The short chapters and flow had me engaged, with an interesting plot, but I wasn’t WOW-ed by the characters. The writing wasn’t spectacular, either. All in all, it was 3 stars.
