Woah. To say I loved reading this book would be an understatement. I read the entire thing in a few hours, putting it down only to eat lunch and reply to my friends’ groupchat. What’s not to like about The Inheritance Games? The story is well written and flows nicely, the characters are interesting and fleshed out, the protagonist has good morals and is someone you want to root for, and the mystery that drives the story kept me on the edge of my seat. One thing in particular that I appreciated about the book were the short chapters that gave the story its fast pace and meant I never tired of reading. The mystery element of the book was well crafted so that I didn’t feel completely in the dark when new developments were uncovered but I also couldn’t guess what was going to happen next. All in all I loved this book and can’t wait to read the sequel, 5 stars!

This book was a nightmare to get through. First with the amount of times the phrase "a girl like me" was written in the first 100 pages. Then with the amount of effort it took to keep all of the grandsons straight while also devoting a significant amount of brainpower to remembering the rest of the characters. There was just too much going on on top of the actual conflict of the book for me to keep track. If I set down the book for even a few minutes I felt like I lost half the plot when I got back to it. Honestly the only reason this isn't getting one star is because of Libby and Nash.
