This was good but not as good as the Good Girl’s series. The book was so chocked full of characters without enough development to really care or remember who was who, and I felt like I needed a family tree to refer back to the whole time. The storyline was detailed but ambiguous (which I suppose was the “mystery” part, but honestly it wasn’t so much mysterious as just felt like you’d missed something). There were a few slight twists but I just felt like they didn’t add much and weren’t exciting or necessary. So idk maybe I somehow just didn’t pay attention or something but I was confused the whole time

I really enjoyed reading this novel. The mystery aspect was so great and trying to solve the puzzles at the same time made me think and exercise my brain…lol

I am curious what the mother’s secret is. I did think Avery made some dumbass chooses however she is 17 so I guess we all make dumbass chooses at 17.

The plot was fun and the boys so something…intriguing I think is what I will say to describe them.

This was a very entertaining read, once I got into the story it was hard to put down. It really does have a "Knives Out" vibe to it with the disgruntled disinherited family. I love all of the Hawthorne brothers but I think Nash is my favourite, loved the biker/cowboy vibes. It does keep you guessing throughout as to why Avery was chosen and cannot wait to read the next book.
