There was no mistaking their intentions-they were going to kill us and eat us. I growled again, facing the danger.

This is my third book by W. Bruce Cameron and I'm satisfied to say this: It's definitely not going to be the last one. I read A Dog's Purpose two, or three years ago before the film came out. Within months, I read the sequel, A Dog's Journey. These two were amazing based on their diplomas of the human being, and what it means to be here, our purposes of life plus the story of a dog going through bodies, inside the same soul, searching for his master, Ethan.

This book was different. It wasn't alike to his other two books I read. This is probably my favorite one (so far). This book tells the story of a pit, Rottweiler, and shepherd (unsure) mix mutt who was born inside a filthy place along with cats. Soon, Lucas, 24 years old guy who came to feed the cats found her and kept her despite the city prohibition of pit bulls. Later, the dog was taken away from Denver to be safe with a foster family during Lucas and his mother look for a place to live where the dog would be allowed. But after weeks, Bella the dog is worried and wanted to be back with Lucas, so she did the only thing possible. She ran away. Across the heart of Colorado, through forests, mountains, and cities with splitting four hundred miles in distance, Bella searched for her way back home, therefore, the title of this beloved book.

The movie came out recently last week, so I hurried up and read this in time to see the movie tomorrow and I'm glad I devoured this one because it's a gem. Dogs lover gem of a book.

The misspelling of words and the extremely slow pace of the plot made it hard to wanna finish it.

Every time I read a book from a dog’s perspective, detailing their thought processes and emotions I really hope it’s at least a little bit true. What did we do to deserve dogs?
