So, This is Christmas is a hilarious rom-com that stole my heart! It's about Finley who struggles with boarding school, so she lies about her hometown Christmas, Oklahoma and pretends like it's a festive paradise. Unfortunately for her, her posh, arrogant rival ends up believing her and visits with his aunt and now demands the perfect Christmas event! 🥰 I immediately felt for Finley as she was desperate to get out of her small town, but is now miserable at her new school. Instead of having a glow up, she doesn't have any friends and is thinking of quitting. Even worse, her parents are having issues but aren't really addressing them with her, so she often feels out of the loop.

I loved the dynamic between Arthur and Finley! It was hilarious how she lied to him about her home town, only to be shocked when he actually visits with his aunt and now expects her to come up with a range of festive activities so his aunt isn't disappointed. Arthur's from the same boarding school, but they never got along - only now they have to spend all this time together. I thought both of them were cute together and I really enjoyed the way this book was written, it's the perfect, festive romance! The only issue I had was with how a side character's sexuality was handled.
Finley's grandmother is a lesbian but was never able to come out due to the extreme homophobia during her youth. I hated how Finley made this all about herself and was acting hurt that her grandmother hadn't told her which must mean that she doesn't trust her. She was so self-centred and didn't consider that no one owes you any information about their sexuality, no matter how close you are.
