A lot of Marvel books keep a consistent artist until the end of the run nears. This series stayed the course up until this volume, for some reason. I'm used to the anniversary issues using different artists but this entire volume shifted between artists several times.

As with the past issues, the stuff with Bucky in the Gulag was wonderful. I enjoyed the last bit of Natasha's solo mission. However, the rest of this book did nothing for me. It was rather annoying to see them drag out Steve deciding to take up the shield again because we saw him struggle with that in the past 2 volumes. It just didn't seem well paced to keep it interesting.

Anyway, it's a recommend for the stuff with Bucky and Natasha (Sam was barely here for some reason? :() but, other than that... I don't think this was necessary.

I didn't like the first 2 issues but enjoyed the second 2. So 2.5 stars. I'm actually really glad this run is over because I didn't love Bucky as Cap.

I don't know, different art styles in one book really throws me off. Anyway it wasn't all that interesting and I liked the Black Widow panels the most. Also, I hate that there's not a real ending and they want me to continue to Fear Itself, which I won't be doing, so.

The only thing I didn't like about this comic is that it ended too soon.

I'm REALLY loving all of these so much. There are so many parallels to tfatws throughout!

The best part of this collection is the fact there is an extended scene in which Bucky, shirtless, is forced to fight a brown bear while imprisoned in a gulag. I mean, this asks you to buy that there are gulags in contemporary Russia, and that Steve Rogers would be okay with leaving a friend of his in a forced labour camp because to do otherwise would be to start an international diplomatic incident (this is Steve Rogers! Have you met him?), but you know: Bucky wrestles a bear! The filler short stories at the end range from the mediocre to the confusing to the deeply weird—there was one bizarre one that featured a clone of Adolf Hitler that made me just want to back away slowly from whoever wrote it.

I enjoyed the story and the gulag/Breitweiser art, but the more cartoony art for the other characters' sections was unappealing.

The parts with continuity were good and interesting, though I was hoping for some more Cap-Bucky interaction. The later bits that weren't part of continuity were... weird. Also, vampires???
