Take the book with a grain of salt. As Johnson writes in the introduction: "It is not what is in the story of the Who Moved My Cheese? but how you interpret it and apply it to your own situation that gives it value".

The idea of workers as mice was chilling but if you can get past that, the book's main point is just to be receptive to change. I think this is applicable in many situations but it's a philosophy that is too concentrated and blind. The book lacks emphasis on allowing minimal change for happiness and savoring the moment. Instead it creates this attitude that one must be submissive for any change and become relaxed towards it all. Almost sounds like it would not be on a banned list of books if a totalitarian government arises.

I would not apply the philosophy to everything in life but to some things.

Update 4/7/19- This 94 page book could have been simplified into a list that wouldn't have taken up more than a page. I will refrain from lowering the rating to 1 star because of this, but I wanted to remind myself why it does not deserve a 1 star rating, since there is important information and isn't entirely useless.

Update
With the adoption of my new rating system, a two star rating is befitting. The original review and rating update from April 7, 2019, conform to the new rating system. As stated in the rating update, this book receives a two star rating because it still has important information, but it is very small in comparison to the unnecessary filler.

Rating Update
The reason behind the lowering of the rating is because of the unnecessary format the twenty-five pages of the group talking about how their life has changed. I was annoyed at reading the imbeciles talk nonchalantly about their private lives and about how change was for the better. I am not as annoyed but still discontent with around seventy pages on the cheese story when instead the advice could have been summed up in one page. I will not allow my original readings reflections of having been moved to now interfere with this rating. Those feelings of having been moved were minuscule and did not last long.

Update
I have thought about whether the one star-rating is harsh for a book with content that I felt reached a three star-content, however, I must remind myself that if this book is worth a reread, which it is not because of its length, and that is why it has received a one star-rating.

Update
I can not be certain that the three star-content, when diluted from the superfluous content, is truly three stars.

Why did I wait so long to read this book? It can apply to many aspects of life and is a truly easy read. Do you have 20 minutes? Read this book!
