Finally finished this book! I'm a fan of Philippa Gregory and I love reading her historical fiction about the royals but I felt that this one dragged. It was probably the chosen story - about how Elizabeth of York dealt with her husband, Henry VII's fear of being usurped. It was very repetitive and I felt like giving him a good slap and telling him to stop taking money from your people to go to a war that you don't even really know is happening and then maybe they might like you!! I think I'm done with the cousins war series now, I won't read the next one.

Another good read from PG. Always a safe bet for something readable and fairly light.
I'm just annoyed at myself that I've read the cousins war series out of order and now cant remember which ones I have and haven't read!

Love all of Gregorys books- historical fiction from a woman's perspective I'm a world where they often had no say. And I love the outfit descriptions.

There hasn't been a PG book I haven't enjoyed, even if this wasn't my absolute favourite.

I wish the story had focused more on Elizabeth of York. It felt like she was a tool to tell everyone else's story.

Oh gawd.this goes on and on and nothing happens but a million similar talks about the boy or a boy...and if sorting does happen it's horrible..if it was a third of the size maybe it would have been better..dull and unpleasant.

I only wish she elaborated on Richard and Elizabeth.
I love the rumors behind it all. I guess I'm just a sick individual
