Shroff explored themes of caste, patriarchy, and female friendship with humor. I found myself laughing throughout and fell in love with the cast of characters. There were a few parts that felt slow to me, but it was a book I’ll be thinking about for a while.

I enjoyed this book, especially because the storyline was unlike anything I've read before. It was humorous but also serious and showed the real struggles the women in the town go through.

Oh man, one of my favorite debuts in a long time! I was so upset when it ended and I didn't get to hear more from this group of women. Nuanced, funny and dark, Shroff tackles topics like caste, abuse and sexual assault in ways that address their gravity without letting it drag the story all the way down. The whole thing felt so deeply genuine.
