I was looking forward to reading this because it's a pretty well known series and even though the movie wasn't a big hit I really loved the movie. But the book was a lot different than the movie. It is really slow, it draws things out way too long before continuing the plot. And I really didn't like the way the dialogue was written

Why did I not read/listen to this sooner? It's a fun (and sometimes heartbreaking) adventure story involving kidnapped and brainwashed owls--a unique premise for sure. I also learned a lot about owls' anatomy, diet, etc. from this book.

(I didn't especially like the audiobook narrator, though, so I plan to read more of the series in print sometime.)

Absolutely loved it! It's sad tho that they don't sell this book in my country. It isn't in the libraries either! I bought the 3 first books. This might become one of my favorite book series

This book seemed a little slow to me. I really starting reading it to see if the movie tried to stay true to the book, which it kind of did, kind of didn't. Seems like a good fantasy series of books for kids. I just had a hard time getting into it.

A fantastic fantasy about a young owl who finds himself alone and taken to a mysterious place for orphaned owls, St. Aggie's. Such a great beginning for the series!

I really enjoyed reading this book. I love all the characters, especially Soren. I loved how he developed from a helpless owlet to a owl that is ready to overcome any obstacle in his path to the Ga’hoole tree. This book was greatly written and I highly recommend this book.
