this is a good memoir. it kind of jumps around and the ideas aren’t all the fluid, so it’s not super easy to put down and then pick back up later. that being said, i didn’t want to put it down. it is a book about crying. it is a book about emotions, life, death, humanness. our lives, our ideas, our experiences jump around and aren’t all that fluid, either.

The brief snippets of writing that make up this book are frequently very well written and about an interesting fact. But this is not really a book. It's closer to a collected tweets or Facebook posts. A good way to spend a little time relaxing but ultimately not very memorable.

It was like telling a story with random facts. I read it for book club. I worried for this woman and hope she gets help most of all. The ending was rather random too. I was caught off guard by it.

En un principio no estaba disfrutando especialmente el libro.
Había algo que no terminaba de entender, que me hacía seguir ajena a él.
Quizá las excesivas notas y referencias que siempre revisar al final del libro si quería saber más (que quería porque no podía esperar), quizá la brevedad y a veces la poca cohesión de un texto con el siguiente...
No lo sé.
Poco a poco he conseguido entrar más en el libro, encontrar el camino y conocer la historia de las lágrimas.
Y bueno, aunque para mi gusto se ha desinflado un poco hacia el final, en conjunto he acabado disfrutando mucho el libro.
Sé que es una obra a la que volveré siempre que esté triste, que necesite una inspiración, que quiera recordar las lágrimas y el llanto en sus distintos caminos.

Un ensayo que se entrelaza con las memorias de la autora. Se abordan temas curiosos y científicos sobre las lágrimas como cuerpo material y sujeto de experimentos, pero también temas personales y subjetivos (maternidad, duelo, depresión, suicidio, racismo, feminismo y escritura). Fragmentos cortitos (a menudo descontextualizados y sin relación entre ellos) escritos con mucha delicadeza y que te hacen reflexionar.
