One of my favourite reads of 2017. Just ordered Acorn last night and can’t wait to read more of Ono’s work.
Grapefruit is unlike any book I’ve ever read. Absolutely and ridiculously brilliant.

It changed the way I view art. It's only limit is YOUR VISUALIZATION.
It had wonderful ideas and it reflected myself when I try to sort out my own thoughts and inspirations, and this book taught me ways I could display my creativity as a lifestyle.
My favorite part was Letter to the Wesleyans. It was a letter to the world, and a valuable lesson for me. I’m to live by a new philosophy.

This is a delightful, tender, enigmatic little book. It tricks you into thinking it is simple: its childlike tone and easy playfulness belie a cutting wit and sophisticated artistic intent that can only come from someone with the expansive, idiosyncratic mind of its author. I am not an avid reader of poetry, but some of the pieces in here are among the best poems I’ve ever read. Each one is like a small door to some imaginary but no less real place where a house can be built of light, where orchestra audiences can fly, where a painting can be made with all the blood in your body.

I don't like to give books like these star ratings but v fun and reminded me of the "1001 ways to annoy people" book that me and a friend wrote in a composition notebook back in 6th grade science class (no shade, that is a compliment)

Delightful and playful and occasionally quite moving. Performance art transcribed into in words that often sound like poetry. Also, Yoko Ono did not break up the Beatles. The entire notion is racist and sexist (and denies John Lennon agency and free will). That is all.
