This is unlike any other memoir I've ever listened to. There are so many ad libs and so much sincerity. She goes on tangents and cracks herself up and chokes herself up being vulnerable. It's not just her triumphs, but her mistakes, and even some really kind of dark confessions behind which  you can tell there's a lot of shame and remorse. I loved this, and it's likely a totally different experience from reading in print.

I had some big actual LOL moments. Loved her in Ghostbusters and on The Daily Show. I generally don’t have the patience for SNL, but I’m sure she was awesome. I love her story and love how she loves herself and the people she encounters. The book was silly and inspiring and sad and hopeful. I would love to be more like her myself.

Listening to this via audio was a treat. Leslie expands a lot more on her thoughts and experiences & she isn’t afraid to hold back. She is passionate and vocal about what she cares about. She laughs, audibly cries and vents about her life experiences. A force to be reckoned with and I’m glad this memoir exists. There are some SNL tidbits / tea for those of you that were curious about her time on the show

john green had recommended this book but i thought it was only okay However he was recommending the book and I listened tot eh audiobook.

The audiobook is read by Leslie which is fun but she excessively adds little tangent stories which makes the whole book a bit messy. Her life as difficult and interesting but the book was not as funny as I’d expected and more full of life struggles, rants, and motivational speeches. There was also not as much SNL as I thought there’d be which I realize her career is more than just SNL but that’s why I was interested ngl

Get. The. Audiobook!!!
Leslie Jones in her own words and voice is funny and poignant and ridiculous and all of the things. The audiobook is 16 hours long, because Leslie literally goes off book and her storytelling is just as off the wall as you’d expect.
