Still one of my favorite series ever. Loki, my beloved 💕
Graphic: Kidnapping, Abandonment, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Outing
Minor: Confinement, Death, Emotional abuse, Infertility, Murder, War
Less use of the word 'foxy' but otherwise no improvement on the first in the series.
Oh my God, I'm so proud of Wendy. I always appreciated her fiery spirit, but when she used it to call Finn out on all that bs he was throwing at her, I freaking CHEERED! She's getting so strong and I know she will make and amazing queen for the Trylle. Hopefully Tove will be good support, even though he's got that little SECRET. (No spoilers.) I find Loki to be a very interesting character, but I never know when to question his motives or support him 100%. I guess it's something to be acquired in Ascend, which I am going to start reading immediately! And by the way, Ms. Hocking, that bombshell with Matt and Willa and Wendy? I nothing flipping SCREAMED bloody murder, I was freaking out so much! Jsvdudhaievrusv! Ascend, here I come!

Loki is definitely the saviour of this series, he’s definitely my favourite part of this book and I can’t wait for more of him in the third!
These books are keeping me sane right now. Thank you for the distraction.
3.8/5
Even more (bigger?) inconsistencies. For example that the first book would've taken place in a time span of multiple weeks, whereas to my knowledge it only spanned roughly a week.
Overall, a nice easy smooth read :)

I LOVE reading this series! It's just a breath of fresh air compared to your other cookie-cutter YA novels out right now.
The second book in the Trylle series was just also amazing. I found that we saw the main character Wendy grow a lot as a person and had some of our questions answered about her family and what not. Then we ended with a real kicker making you want to go head and read book 3 right away.
