That last 20% was just fantastic. Gave me all the feels and I caught myself saying “aww” several times. The book has a slow start and honestly is a slow book in itself, so it took me a minute to actually get into it. It’s a really sweet book though and I understand why people love it. Again, the last 20% is where it’s at.

Loved it!! Bit slow in the beginning but with time, the seems very interesting and gripping. The story of a old man whose life has changed after her wife's death and how people around him behaviour changes around him to an extent is worth the time. I suggest everyone who have lost the will to live the life should read this book. The moment he lose his will power to live and give up on himself and the detail emotional touch of the moment when he loses his wife are the parts which makes this book worth reading. Overall a great book, giving one star less for the slow beginning.

I fear I relate to Ove's anger a lil too closely

This was a book with so much depth and character growth.

### Possible spoilers, read with caution. ###

I had so much feelings of irritation at Ove at the beginning of the book which I understand is the point but why would Backman have to put me through his sad life story?
Ove is a man riddled by loss. In turn he takes that out on everyone around him. He reaches his breaking point when a light shines in his dark life.
The family that comes into his life are so sweet and hilarious to read about. I love the trope of a family with many children that seem hectic (and are hectic) yet are so full of love it makes you jealous.
The bond Ove created with the people around him was amazing!
The ending hurt, I expected it yet it still came and made my emotions go haywire.
