I feel like the ending could have been one book all to it's own.
Imagine a final novel that is a political thriller of how the draconians interact with the installing of a new emperor.
Apart from that it has been a fun series I just think the ending could do some work.

An excellent way to end the Lady Trent memoirs- one last adventure in a far-flung part of the world, and a discovery that will change not!Earth's society (can't think of a real world equivalent for the spoilerific plot element here, for once).

This wasn't my favorite Lady Trent novel. It felt like the pacing is the middle slowed down too much and I found myself getting bored. But the ending was very well done with the usual fantastic character work and setting.

What a fun series. I went into the first book not expecting much other than some neat dragon scenes, and have found so much joy from reading these. Brennan makes characters and worlds that feel real and heavy and delightful, and the last book wrapped everything up so nicely without leaving any of those things behind. The fact that the series seemed to only get better with each book is a testament to the author's skill and the story's thoughtfulness.
