Short review: The secret to being able to get through the news is to have a book that’s even worse.
Long(er) review: Though to be fair, I’m not sure this was a book. It was a compilation of everything that was popular in the early 2000’s - the Must-See TV lineup, Juicy Couture sweatsuits, Clinique Happy, tabloid news stories - held together by a thoroughly ludicrous story. Only finished because I was in search of a redeeming factor...that never came. Okay, I didn’t mean that, Scottie - that character was too good for this...whatever it is.
P.S. If an author’s going to have earlier characters make cameos, it works best if it’s subtle. It worked the first time in this work, not so much the second.

Good, quick read with some interesting plot development.

I predicted this entire book. I'm not sure how, because it didn't necessarily take logical turns, but for some reason I predicted the entire thing so I never felt surprised or swinging emotion.

This is not the best Emily Griffin book I’ve read. It reminded me of a daytime soap opera plot; overly dramatic and highly unrealistic.

I hate-listened to this book. I disliked every single character, every plot decision and the ending. Yet I couldn’t stop?! It makes no sense. Empty calories. It was very soap-opera esque. So maybe that’s the hold.

Honestly just a blah read for me. The plot was all over the place, I kept waiting for it to come together in a believable way and time after time I just kept groaning at the plot twists and tangles. It was enjoyable along the ride, but not one I'd highly recommend.

The audiobook version of this was decent entertainment for a long drive

I want to start off by saying I don’t agree with romanticizing 9/11. I know that that was only a portion of the book, but still. It feels wrong.

Besides that, this book was great. I truly loved the characters, the storyline, and everything in between. I did guess the huge “twist”, but it came in an unexpected way that gave me goosebumps!!! This was a great read that I would definitely recommend if you can handle the topic.

The premise of this book was good, but it was so damn predictable, and I spite finished it because I ended up hating almost everyone in the story.

There was almost too much going on in this story. It felt like a writing challenge where someone pulled 8 random topics out of a hat and then had to find a way to write them into the same book. Not my favorite.
