An entertaining & captivating book - the easy read that is fun when you don't want to ''think'' too much. What I didn't enjoy as much is how irrealistic some parts of the book sound to me.

Definitely a fun read but not a must!

3.5 stars
The first half was a bit of an eye roll. So many red flags.
The last half got better.

Emily Giffin is usually one of my go-to authors when I want something easy to digest and romantic. This one just missed the mark for me.

idk if this is a hot take but i could not read this book, i was too anxious the whole time and didn't love the plot enough to keep going. i gave up at 45% of the way through and literally skipped to the end 2 chapters and read from there. i didn't hate it or anything but also found myself never wanting to pick it up and i feel completely satisfied not finishing it. not really spicy

Way too predictable to give more than 2 stars. Also, flat characters and not enough respect given to 9/11.

No no no NO!!! I knew where this was going all along & dammit it went there ! Very long and drawn out & ended exactly like I suspected it would. Very disappointed in this book !

not a big fan of this one....too cheesy for me
lighthearted relaxing fast-paced
Strong character development: No
Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: No
Flaws of characters a main focus: No

This one was hard to rate but I ended up giving it four stars, mainly because it kept me guessing, despite this not being a mystery. It also helps I don’t read the whole preview through on anything anymore- books, movies, etc. Sometimes they give too much away and I prefer to just get the gist instead. However, the title alone and the too good to be true romance that blossoms so early on should tip readers off there’s more to the story, in more ways than one.

One consistent quality I find with Giffin’s novels is that her characters often make pretty horrible decisions. In The Lies That Bind this proves to be true yet again. Still, here I like how the characters acknowledge their flaws instead of brushing past them as some of her past novels have done. I also found it interesting that in this story the backdrop of 9/11 is a supporting character. It’s an important part of the big picture, but doesn’t leave the reader feeling like its presence was misplaced.
