So I don't know what it is about me not being able to get into a book at all lately, but I really just could NOT get into this. I think it's a really cute idea, and I can totally see a theme with quirkiness with both Horrorstor and now My Best Friend's Exorcism, and I like where the author is going with these books. And I love the creativity he has in how the books are published - Horrorstor having pics of IKEA throughout and this one looking like it's a yearbook. But I just didn't care about the story. It was fun and entertaining enough, but I found myself bored very often.

4.5*

Audiobook on Storytel.

This was an outstanding story! The pacing was masterful, gradually building tension, raising the stakes, and making me genuinely care about the characters. The depiction of body horror was gruesome and effective, adding a visceral layer to the narrative. What impressed me most was how the author captured the identities, struggles, and challenges of teenage girls with such authenticity. The portrayal of female friendship and its evolution throughout the novel was both powerful and deeply moving.

I didn’t like this quite as much as How to Sell A Haunted House, but I certainly enjoyed the “hell” out of it. The last page, however, REALLY hit hard in the best of ways.

It started ok, but I got disinterested as it continued. Maybe I’m just not a horror fan. Pretty cover art though.
