Es más bien 3,5/5
Me ha gustado, aunque me ha dejado más fría que el de los vampiros. Es verdad que Hendrix sabe muy bien cómo llevar una historia y engancha desde el principio.

My favourite part of this book was observing the dynamic between best friends Abbie our main character and Gretchen. I love that the beginning of each chapter is the lyric or title of a song and the references to 80s life including their shared love for E.T., rollerblading parties and dancing to songs such as Like a Virgin with a cone bra!
After some teenage bonding and a night out gone wrong Gretchen is missing for a short while and when she comes back dreadful things start happening not only to her but those around her.
The complete loyalty Abbie has for Gretchen really tugs at the heartstrings for me. The feeling of girl power and how important lasting friendships are. Another well crafted teen novel from Grady's female POV.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5 stars
I think this book was the perfect length - any longer and I probably would have liked it less. I've been on a bit of a Grady Hendrix binge after reading and loving The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires. I really had high hopes for My Best Friend's Exorcism and for the most part, they were met!
This book was less traditionally scary/spooky - don't get me wrong there were certainly some scenes that grossed me out - but I was mostly heartbroken for how the town treated Abby, especially Gretchen's parents and the principal.
I can't say much without spoiling the plot, but this was a fun and entertaining book about how far someone will go to help their best friend. Throw in demonic possession and a ton of 80s references and it's a good time!
