What a ride! 4.5 STARS
For a brief summary, the title pretty much sums it up. This novel is a coming of age tale that follows two girls whom become best friends. You get to witness the two grow together as they experience all that life has to offer. Some good and unfortunately some bad.
On a night filled with Shrooms and skinny dipping, one of the girls, Gretchen, ends up getting lost in the woods and when she is eventually found to is shaken to her core by something. Over the next days her friend, Abby, begins to notice a change in Gretchen and its scaring her. She slowly watches the evil force take hold of her best friend and since no one close to them believes her or seems to want to help, she takes matters into her own hands and seeks aid from a initiate exorcist.
This book delivers in terms of character development. You witness both girls transform from children to young adults in a smooth way, nothing feels rushed. The atmosphere of the book is great too. Some parts will have you laughing out loud and then when the switch happens its takes you down a dark path.
I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is new to horror. It's a perfect starter for this genre.

Not too scary, but that's good! I'd consider this "horror lite" and that's exactly what I was looking for. Decent pace throughout but really picked up in the final third of the story. A fun read.
