Absolutely wonderful with amazing non-binary rep! London and Dahlia are my favorites, and I really liked the cooking show setting.

Wow. This book is such a ride. Love and other disasters is perfect for master chef binge watchers, messy adults and every non-binary person who has ever wanted their own love story. It’s sexy, it’s funny, it’s relatable and emotional. Love and other disasters came at a perfect time in my own messy queer enby life. Seeing these characters, London and Dahlia, face such honest challenges of LGBT relationships as well as their own personal insecurities sends a great message of how we can present queer relationships in modern media. I am grateful this book now exists and I am excited what other works Anita Kelly is bound to create.
I feel bad, but I’m rounding down on this one. I feel like the beginning, middle, and end were totally different books. The beginning was interesting enough, the middle completely lost me, but the last quarter was great! There was so much more depth to the characters suddenly! Without giving away too much I felt like the focus was way too much on The sex scenes (which usually make me inconsiderate and take me out of the moment when they are SO long and detailed) and not enough focus on the characters backgrounds and depth with their families - the earlier portions were rather vague about family situations in my opinion. This book was so long to have had so little in it. The last quarter was some great writing and I wish I could have seen more of that throughout the book.

Love & Other Disasters is a book that has been on my TB for such a long time, and after being obsessed with cooking shows recently I had to finally get to. I adored this book from the first page, I loved the cooking competition aspect, I loved the LGBTQ rep, both main characters and so many of the side characters. This one is perfect for anyone who loves cooking shows and is sure there is sometimes a love story brewing somewhere behind the scenes.

A romance novel with a f/nb romance? And a MasterChef-inspired cooking competition? Count me IN!
I loved this book. It loses one entire star for.
Otherwise, it was cute and fluffy with just the right amount of substance to make me really care about both characters.
