it is my fault for picking up a memoir about a person i do not know or care about. that seems harsh but it is true. i heard decent things about the book so i picked it up without knowing a think about the author. i only got through 25% of the book and at no point was i given a reason to care about the author and her experiences. would try fiction from this author in the future

I’m empathetic to the author’s message and I’ve always loved reading memoirs and getting glimpses into people’s lives. The platonic love story between the author and her best friend is heartwarming and touching. I didn’t love the recipe sections and the book dragged on a bit for me. It was nothing amazing but a nice read with a nice sentiment overall.
