Re-read Review: 3.5⭐️ Almost 10 years later, I have finally found the time to get back to this series. I still feel like Legend is more of a setup novel for the rest of the series. I’ll see how I feel after I finish the remaining books.

This novel started off slow in my opinion. It did pick up close to the end of Part One, but it absolutely had the feel of a setup for the trilogy. There wasn't a lot of informstion about how The Republic came to be, and I found that frustrating. I also agree with some of the reviews about June and Day being indistinguishable at times. I will probably read the remaining books in the series, but I will wait until they are available in paperback.

9/23/19 Reread/Review: I was so nervous to start rereading this series. It is a lifelong favorite, but it has been living in some golden place in my mind and I haven't read it since the first time. But, with Rebel coming out in two weeks, I'm finally revisiting the Legend universe that made me cry for EVERY BOOK. And now I can safely say that no matter how much I read these books, I'm DEFINITELY still going to cry.

They're just that damn good.

I rarely remember a lot of what I read after finishing a book. Legend and its' sequels is a rare stand-out, a series I remember so much of that I haven't felt the need to reread it. But having finally began that reread, I'm so happy to find the series still holds all the passion, the chemistry, the twists and turns and phenomenal pacing. There's so much charm in these characters and so much emotion on the page that I can't imagine anyone reading these books not feeling moved! I'm so excited to move on in the series, and so happy I have one last book to cherish in this universe.

***

This is the best damn dystopian YA novel I have ever read. Beautiful writing, beautiful characters, beautiful personalities. There were even a few twists that surprised me, which dystopian novels have to truly be innovators to do. I even cried at one point! I recommend this to anyone looking for a good starting point for dystopia.

I enjoyed this book

I quite liked the plot twists and the general plot of this story but I feel as if it's missing something....

I plan on re rating it once I've finished the series but overall the concept is good

I also found it difficult to image the world without a map but the next book does have one.

It was a great start and it was so much potential but at the end I was disappointed. I hope that the rest of the books will explain a lot of things.
