Now this is how you write a book without a stupid cliffhanger. Didn’t know these authors (at least not Ella) had it in them, but I appreciate it. I kept waiting for something fucked up to happen in the end.

I spent the first 20% crying nonstop because of the angst that resulted from the horrible ending of the first book. The rest of the book was sweet. Probably more of a 2.5, but I can round it up for the good ending. This is still an enjoyable series to read. I really like both Kieran and Bash. I hope that their happy resolution will come relatively painlessly.

second on the series for Bash & Keiran's storyline. Enjoyed just as much as the first book, great plot and pacing, and just the right amount of angst.

Dare Me immediately picks up Kieran and Bash's story with Bash getting the wrong idea and trying to shield his feelings he flees Chicago and heads home to South Haven but is eventually pursued by a rather angry and hurt Kieran.

And this for me is when the sparks really begin to fly as the pair finally admit what they're feeling towards each other is real. But it's not all plain sailing as Kieran is due back at work in Chicago in two weeks and Bash is clearly much happier at home in South Haven.

Yet, they know what they have is something special and with some nice character growth and communication, plenty of heat and sweetness this was a really enjoyable read. And I'm now looking forward to the conclusion of Bash and Kieran's story in Truth or Dare.

I will always want more Bash and Kieran in my life and Dare Me was everything I wanted and more. While this book starts on a kind of sour note with both of them being unhappy, I loved that Ella and Brooke took me on an emotional journey right along with Bash and Kieran. There were so many moments that left me cracking up (*cough, cough* Sean Bailey) and wishing I could be in Chicago/South Haven right along with all of them.

Kieran finds himself alone in Chicago and makes a big decision to track down Bash and chase his happiness (literally). He finds himself in so many situations he never even dreamed of before meeting Bash and is all in, enjoying every second. I loved that he’s so open to everything Bash throws his way and can’t imagine being anywhere other than in his presence. In such a short time, Bash has turned Kieran’s world upside down and his old version of normal doesn’t hold much appeal anymore.

Bash ghosted Kieran and is dealing with the repercussions of his actions, drowning his sorrows in champagne, karaoke and time with the South Haven crew, with the most perfect appearances by all of them throughout this story. But everything changes and he’s pulled into being South Haven’s tour guide, showcasing the place he loves so much. He’s completely in his element, showing Kieran who he is, what he’s built and the family he’s created.

Once these two finally talk it out, their relationship takes on a whole new level of intensity, sweetness and vulnerability. Seeing Kieran out of his element and Bash thriving in his environment is such a change up from the first book, but I loved seeing them reverse roles from the situation in Chicago. The best thing about their relationship is that it doesn’t feel like experimentation - it’s something new and unexpected for both of them, but they’ve both found someone they want to hold on to and see where it goes.

I can’t wait to see where the final book in Bash and Kieran’s trilogy takes us. There’s so many possibilities for greatness that I’m already excited to read it! This mashup of the Chicagoverse and South Haven has been a sweet but crazy ride and I’m all in!

Dare Me is the second book in the Dare to Try trilogy by one of my favorite writing duos, Brooke Blaine and Ella Frank. I am so in love with Kieran and Bash. I fell for them when they were just fun side characters but now that they are the leading men, swoon! In Dare You, we got to see them meet and traverse Kieran's world in Chicago. Now they are in Bash's home of South Haven. Kieran gets to meet Bash's friends (Hello my lovers, how I've missed you all). Kieran gets to be himself and more open than he was in Chicago and he gets to see a side of Bash that makes him fall even harder. Now that they have admitted they both want more, what happens next? Holy crap, I can't wait to find out!
