I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I loved this author's Lore & Lust series, so I went in with high expectations and those expectations were met. I liked that it took place in the same world as L& but told a fresh story.

I am feeling so many emotions after reading this book - it really put me through the wringer! It is portrays the darker side of vampire society with themes of classism, oppression and abuse within the isolated and antiquated aristocracy of Eden. Olivier’s life is beyond stifled and his internalized negative self-talk is heart wrenching. It was so beautiful to see Oliver’s grow after meeting Aries.

I liked this book a lot. It was a quick read, with some heavier topics. Even though I did enjoy the relationship between Oliver and Aries, at some points I felt Aries character could have been a bit more interesting I guess. Like He was nice and I understand his importance especially for Oliver, but it somehow felt like there was missing something. Alexander, for example, felt a bit more real and varied, which makes me excited for his book! All in all though I really enjoyed this book.
