The final book of this year's #ReadChristie2021 challenge. I very much enjoyed the process of the whole book club and am really looking foreward to continuing with this in 2022.
"The Sittaford Mystery" was a great book for the pre-Christmas/advent time. The whole mood of the book with the small village and the snow, especially with the table-turning that framed the whole story, really contribute to my Christmas mood. It was an exciting and thrilling plot and somehow not what I was used to from the other Christie novels I read this year. The body count was comparatively low, which however, did not minimize the exicitment of the plot. What I enjoyed very much about this novel was the strong main female character, which is one of Christie's strong suits as well as detailled description and setting the murder mystery mood. The ending was a bit of a let-down or anti-climax. I expected a bit more scandal from the whole story. This is also the reason, why I (only) gave 4/5 starts. This will not be my favourite Christie, but it is nevertheless worth a read.
