I enjoyed reading this installment of the Fins series, but it makes me crave another so I can see how all of my favorite characters are coping with life after high school! I think this series is light-hearted, funny, and interesting enough to keep you wanting more.

This book is to be adored. Lily is now the Crown Princess and also still with her bf but bonded with a Prince from another castle to save his palace and people. More trouble comes to her realization when she calls the meeting for all of the 7 sea kingdoms rulers to come and discuss how to help Prince Tellin's kingdom, the world trouble that causes the help to Tellin's kingdom; All the other countries also has problems. And her little stunt to make her a princess and still keep her bf? Makes them go through another trial that might just kill the human she loves the most. This book had me reading in a pace that i didn't even realize what page i was on, the ongoing trouble, events, surprises, and chess moves played out on this book is to be not missed! Its kind of really a realistic version of a teenager's life, mermaid princess who is half human trying to have both, beautifully and funny written into a story. My explanation for what I said before, scoffs* when you talk about the beginning and some of the actions i zoned out and then remember “OH yeah that happened to her, instead of me.” I'm taken along the wave. I dive in a little and it shows me the underwater wonders, I peek and dive deeper, and it moves so I follow the current, and finally after all the conflicts at the bottom it brings me back up with reassurance and rolls me out with the wave saying “That’s all." Leaving a Smile on my face and my mood like I suddenly got wiser and that I sort of feel warm inside.

This series started off with a Big Bang. Seriously. I loved Quinn, and I loved the whole idea of "princess of Thalassinia". Unfortunately, as the series progressed, the things I seemed to like/care about most disappeared.
First of all, things got mega-lame. One thing I absolutely positively cannot abide is lame names. Well, let me give you an excerpt from this book:
"What?" I ask, my voice softer. "Just tell me, Calliope."
"It seems the ancient law requires your human to..." She shakes her head. "He must pass the Trial of Truth."
Doe gasps.
I suck in a tight breath.
The Trial of Truth? Are you fubbugintidgfd kidding me?!?!?!?! *facepalm*
Also, the author used really bad "speaking" words. All these tiny quirks throughout the book kind of got on my nerves.
The only thing that made this book a two star instead of a negative 4 was because of Quince. Quince was still the same lovable and sexy guy he was in the first book. Congrats to the author for managing that.

Just like the first two books in the Fins series, Just for Fins was a cute and fun read! I devoured it all in almost one sitting, and in one day (that doesn't happen very often!).
Lily and Quince are back for another magical adventure, and their relationship is stronger than ever. The romance wasn't the biggest focus in this book, but their love for each other was obvious in their actions. I love Quince!
There was a lot of politics in this one - but not so much that it dragged down my enjoyment. It created conflict in a good way; it made you want resolution. Everything is falling apart in the mer world, and Lord love a lobster, Lily is stuck in the middle of it! Things were bad and it seemed there wasn't a way to make all sides happy, but I was pleased with the solution that Lily came up with in the end.
Lily is such a great protagonist! She's a princess and a mermaid, sure, but she's still human on the inside and she's easy to relate to. She's sweet and considerate, but she can really step up and be tough when necessary.
I love the writing in this series! All of the sea quips and play-ons really submerge you further in the story (ha, see what I did there? Alright, so maybe I'm a little lame...).
The only thing I felt was lacking in Just for Fins? A map. I would have loved to see a map of the mer kingdoms in the beginning. With all the kings and queens of all the kingdoms, I had trouble keeping track of them all: Nephropida, Rosmarus, Marbella Nova, Antillenes. A map of all the kingdoms and rulers would have been an extremely helpful addition!

This series is ended and it's off my TBR pile...FINALLY!!! Just for Fins ended on weird note, I thought this book should have had been longer so it could have had a better ending. This book almost seemed like in a rush to the finish line. Overall I give this book 2 stars for getting off my TBR list.

This book was pretty good. It would be my second favorite of the whole series. I love watching the character development for all of the characters, especially Dosnia. Childs had me strongly disliking the girl in the first novel, hating her in the first part of the second novel, and loving her in the third. Great series!
