Brutal, gripping, and did not see the end.
dark mysterious tense fast-paced

Any thriller with a shocking plot twist I don’t see coming is at least a 4 star for me. Karin Slaughter doesn’t disappoint with The Silent Wife.

I’ve done what I have never done before and read a series OUT of order for some reason?? Started at book 10 and it was so good that I’m going to backtrack 9 books.

I think this is the best one yet!
I love what Slaughter did with this book. Giving us both Jeffrey and Will, making them do what they do best (catching the bad guys)
I think the combination of our two heroes (from Grant County & Atlanta) gives this book the edge that none of the others had.

Slaughter is a brilliant writer and her police procedure is some of my favourite pieces of work. Her work captives, and takes you into the most gruesome scenarios but also makes you enjoy the processes of finding justice.
Then she adds character relationships and conflicts and you fall into a love story you didn't even know you were reading.
I'm a sucker for this type of thing, especially if done as expertly as this.
I mean let's be honest (all time, read ever Slaughter book Fans) we've all been comparing the two men in Sara's life, looking at the good, the bad and the ugly. And this book just goes to show that we are allowed to love them both

As always, I loved it.

4.5⭐️ This book is longggg, but if you’ve been a fan of this series thus far, of course, it’s a must read it. If the Will Trent series is new to you, this is not the one I’d start with because so much of the story revolves Sara’s relationship with Will in the present and her relationship with Jeffrey (from the Grant County series) in the past, and I think the book will be so much better when you know all the details.

For those who’ve read the first nine books, The Silent Wife doesn’t disappoint. I loved how descriptive and detailed the story was, how the dual timelines tied the story together perfectly and how Karin’s message so clearly came across in her writing. The author’s note made the story for me, so do not skip that at the end!

Counting down to more Will and Sara!

The story kept me interested, but felt unnecessarily dense. Took a long time to get through.
