This is another book that stuck with me ever since I've read it. Slaughter's brilliance and the killer in this book just totally took residence in a part of my brain and won't go.

But listening to this whilst knowing who the guilty party was just hit differently. I mean, the way Slaughter set it up so perfectly. Actually I've been listening to this whole series differently, and I'm so amazed at the little clues I've picked up this time around.

It's obvious that I'm a Slaughter fan, I can't stop gushing about her.

I used to like this series, I don't know if I changed as reader or they got more violent - but so much horrendous violence against women in graphic detail - can't do it -- and the romance back and forth is getting old

This is exactly what I needed after reading some subpar thrillers! Karin can literally do no wrong. Idk what I’m going to do when I’m done with her backlist

I continue to love this series, and it was a fantastic 20-year anniversary of the start of the Grant County/Sarah Linton/Will Trent books. Kathleen Early is an excellent narrator.

I was so excited to have all my favourite characters together in one book!! So nice to "see" Jeffrey again! And Frank, the old grouch! And spunky younger Sarah alongside current day Sarah who has seen so much. Let me say, I was thrilled.

I loved the duel time lines, and another disturbing yet fascinating storyline from Karin Slaughter.

As the book went on and I was trying to piece things together I almost thought this was going to be a Part 1 of 2....I didn't think there was enough of the book left to solve the case and tie things up.

And then she DID IT. I literally SAID "NO SHE DIDN'T!" out loud...to an empty room. Karin Slaughter dropped a bomb on this one! SO GOOD! UGH she got me. I love it when an author blows me away. I was blown away. Thank you Karin Slaughter. Thank you for these amazing characters that I will follow as long as you let me. Thank you for knocking it out of the park once again. I cannot wait for the next book! 5 stars easy. Loved it!

This was so good one of her best books in this series. If you love crime books read this you will be hooked from the very start cannot recommend enough

this was a really solid crime mystery. the dovetailing of past and present timelines was well done and heightened the tension while also providing context for the unraveling mystery.

A convicted pedophile convinces the GBI to reopen his case, telling them that his conviction was the result of a conspiracy by the Grant County police, led by Sara's former husband, Jeffrey. The story takes place in Grant County at the time of the original murders, and today, where more victims with a similar M.O. are appearing throughout Georgia.

Gripping as always. My one gripe would be that I saw this one coming fairly early on.
