I'll be honest, I truly did not gel with Deltora Quest by Emily Rodda. I had originally picked up the book because I had been told it was a children's classic of fantasy literature, and deeply beloved by many nostalgic readers alike - however I found both the characters and the plot to be less than satisfactory. Perhaps I don't have the nostalgia glasses to skew my view, nor the tolerance for a plot I felt needless drawn out and incredibly dry, but overall I had little love for Deltora Quest.

Absolutely loved these books when I was younger. Truly a great series.

I love this book. I fell in love with around age 7/8 and thoroughly enjoyed re-reading it now for the nostalgia value. Perfect for that 8-12 age group with action, adventure and a slightly more intricate plot than most. 5/5 for sure, will be reading to my kids when I have them.

I LOVED this series as a kid. I was pretty young at the time, so I am kind of doubtful that they would hold up at all. The target audience was definitely children.
But the characters were cool, the mini adventures of each novel were exciting, and you got to solve puzzles alongside the heroes as you read. Stopping to try to logic those out was a blast!

Plus some of the cover artwork has been seared into my brain all these years. It took some creative googling to finally remember what this was called. Glad I was able to dig it back up!
