The first half was an excellent descent into addiction, losing control of yourself and becoming a slave to your impulses, which guide you back to the drug again. A good Batman story and a good morality play for the early 90s when the War On Drugs was at a height.

The second half was a fairly standard Bat-story without anything to really recommend it (except for the 3 pages with sharks).

Half way between the old and the new. An attractive looking but dark story with an omniscient narrator I enjoyed very much and with great Alfred characterisation and dialogue.

Things escalate quickly when Batman feels like isn't enough for Gotham. It was a good arc that didn't include the usual rogues. Kind of a prequel to Knightfall.
