I really enjoyed listening to this book, my favourite Sherlock Holmes novel so far!
Stephen Fry is masterful with his narration and the story is superb, you are really engaged with the mystery as usual.
I enjoyed the change of scenery and for Watson to spend some time doing detective work himself.
Even though I vaguely knew the premise, the story was still super tense and atmospheric!

The best Sherlock Holmes novel.

Holmes and Watson are to investigate a devilish hound killing a noble family, which bordered on paranormal. It's fun to see Holmes squash those assumptions with cold, hard reality.

The book takes a turn when Holmes has a more important case to solve, and poor Watson must spend several weeks living in the client's wealthy estate making sense of the bizarre occurrences. The doctor shines given his position.

I haven't read such an enthralling tale in a long while, and this book makes it clear why Sherlock Holmes and Arthur Conan Doyle helped revolutionize the mystery genre. Another classic I wish I had read sooner.
