3.5. I read this as a buddy read with my mom while on vacation. It was perfect for that environment. It gave us plenty to talk about without being controversial. Some parts made me think about how I interact with my own children and how good communication is the foundation for any relationship.
I'm only giving this 3.5 stars though because it ended pretty abruptly and unsatisfactorily for me.

This was a light read and I could really identify with the relationship between the mother and her 16-year old daughter.

I wish my mom and I would’ve read this in high school, when I “hated” her and vise versa. Cute look into mom daughter relationship at the height of hormones

The dual point of view of a mother and daughter was interesting. I could not relate to these characters at all so it made it difficult to get into the storyline but it was an easy read.
Enjoyable read!
I really like this author’s writing style. It’s very conversational and natural. At times she can be super-funny too. This wasn’t my favorite from her- the back and forth perspectives sometimes seemed a little manipulative- as if she was really pounding home the idea that the exact same situation looks totally different to people. In this case how a mother and daughter can misunderstand each other. But overall, I enjoyed reading this one.
