I don’t know why aria and Luca kinda bore me. But I love Matteo and Giana lol. This story just seemed repetitive since it had scenes from the other books

AMAMOS

POR FAVOR DIGANME QUE HAY MÁS LIBROS CON ROMERO AHÍ, ES QUE ROMEROOO

This book was much more intense than I anticipated. Truth is, I wasn't expecting much, and I don't mean that in a bad way, I just honestly had no idea going into it where Cora Reilly was going to take this story. Would it take place after Twisted Loyalties (the first book in the spin-off series) ? Would it take place right after Bound By Vengeance but before the events of Twisted Loyalties? After Bound by Honor? I honestly had no idea, and I feel like not much info was provided by the author on that front.
So, anyway, I was very pleased to discover that Bound By Love takes place two weeks after the events of Bound by Honor, and spans over, god I don't know, maybe ten years or so? In classic Cora Reilly style (you know what I mean if you've read the other books in this series), the story basically goes through all the major plot points of the previous books in the series but told from either Aria or Luca's POV. I feel that's a style people either love or hate seeing as it can feel somewhat repetitive but personally I love it.
I was really, really happy we got to experience some scenes from our MCs pov since they were scenes that when reading in the previous books had me thinking "man, I wish we could know how that's affecting Aria and Luca". So basically, all my wishes were answered on that front.
With that being said though, if it's not a style you enjoy, don't let that deter you from reading this book because a large portion of the book was also completely new stuff that we, readers, had literally no idea was going on with Luca and Aria. For me, it was the perfect mix of new content and older one.
Like I said at the beginning, this storyline sure had some intensity I wasn't expecting at all. I was highly entertained throughout and more than a couple of scenes had me shaking with excitement.
I've always enjoyed being in this world, with these characters, and Aria and Luca (although they're not my personal favorites; that would be Dante and Valentina) were honestly so much fun to be around again.
I love what Cora has create here, and I admire the fact she's bold in her storylines and doesn't shy away from putting her characters in difficult and often times dangerous situations.
I love the whole war between Dante and Luca, the tension between them really comes through in the story. I love this feeling of helplessness it gives the reader because you don't want either of them to win because it means the other one loses, but you also don't know how the peace between them could ever be repaired.
Plus, I imagine the Camorra will probably get in on this war as well at some point and maaaaaaan I'm here for it. It's just really, really awesome and it's the kind of complexity I live for in mafia books, or really books in general to be honest. It's without a doubt one of the reasons why I love this series so much and keep reading.
Bottom line is, I really enjoyed this book and despite its length, the story didn't feel like it dragged at any point for me. I'm super excited to read Dante and Valentina's sequel book because they're my favorite and I WANNA KNOW WHAT THEY'VE BEEN UP TO ALL THIS TIME.
Anyway, I highly recommend reading this one if you've read the previous books in the series and weren't too sure if you wanted to pick this one up. I don't recommend, however, reading this book without having read the previous ones. I feel you'll get really spoiled if you do that.
