Honestly, I was so disappointed in this book and the ending of the book. I liked finding out the truth about Thomas but that felt rushed, and the entire book felt like it was leading to this huge battle that ended very rapidly. If this was just the third book in a series I might have rated it higher but this is the ending, the final battle, the moment I as the reader have been waiting for, and I regret joining this journey as a whole. There were answers to some of the questions burning from book one, but too many new questions that will never get answered.

Genevieve makes a trip to the Underworld to save her love, Jude. It's not easy between keeping secrets from her family to making deals with Demons. But, she manages and makes a few discoveries in the process. Bound in Black is the last of the Vessel series by Juliette Cross. I had some questions from the first book that I had wanted to be answered in both books two and three.  I did get my answers, just not in the way that I had hoped. I was left wanting a bit more when it came to the actual war, as it was such a huge topic in the books. Overall, they were fun, fast reads.

Wow. Honestly. This really put me the through the wringer. It is the final book and really can’t be read as a standalone. But watching the relationship between Jude and Gen come to a really satisfying conclusion. I even really started to like Gen by the end! (She is very young and I have to keep that in mind!) There are some wicked twists and turns that I had thought of but wasn’t sure of - and then BOOM - and man were they awesome to read! Not to mention the steam - the steam levels just rise with every single book and this one is singe worthy.

The final book in the Vessel Trilogy will be released on 2/22!

TL/DR Review
Stars: Four Stars
Steam: more dirty talk, multiple scenes and positions described
Series: Vessel Trilogy - book three - you cannot read this as a standalone
POV: Single POV - leading lady
Tropes: fated mates, bodyguard, end of the world prophecy
For Fans Of: Angels and Demons romances
Theme Song: You’re My Home by Billy Joel
Subgenre: Paranormal/ Fantasy Romance
CW/ TW: discussions of parental suicide, grief, some fantasy bloodshed on the page, cheating

Don't get me wrong, I love when Cross's gives us pages upon pages of the two main characters being together but, I felt like that dragged this too short book and left much to me wanted. The prophesy was the theme of all the books which spoke of a great war. The show down between her and the vessel of dark was not what was expected. I will say was surprised by the Thomas situation. Hoping there's at least a spin off book or series for this because, Cross did some great world building. Also loved that we got two epilogues. There can never be enough of those.
Trigger Warning: torture, blood, graphic injuries, memory loss, kidnapping, gaslighting, and murder

I am super thankful that all the books in The Vessel Trilogy released in the same year, having to wait longer for all the books would have been SO hard. After reading SEALED IN SIN I needed to get my hands on BOUND IN BLACK immediately as the cliffhanger had my brain scrambling way too much. It was definitely one of those times that being a book reviewer was super fortunate.

BOUND IN BLACK wastes no time getting into the story by starting right where SEALED IN SIN ends. There is no doubt in Genevieve's mind that she has to go get him from the underworld and her plans move pretty swiftly. We get all the answers we could possibly want in the last book of the trilogy and a little more on top of that. The prophecy we have heard so much about is fulfilled in a shocking way. The action is aplenty and there is plenty of danger for all involved.

I have really enjoyed this series and I am sad to see it end. I loved the characters, I loved the storyline and I loved the ending. The Vessel Trilogy is getting a final 5 star review from me!

This series is a rollercoaster of emotions and the final installation is no different. I absolutely love Gen and how she embraces her powers, despite being tested to her limits. Watching her confidence grow and her desire to protect those she loves is inspiring and engaging. The high stakes continue in this book, with stories of redemption, war and vulnerability all explored. I found myself shocked by the reveals and couldn’t wait to find out what happened! The author cleverly switches between fierce and shocking battles, to tender and sweet moments at Gen and Jude’s cottage, keeping the suspense high as we wait to see whether our favourite characters will survive. Action-packed and filled with romance, this is not a series to miss out on. Thank you to the author for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is the finale in the Vessel Trilogy and I was so thrilled to get an early ARC of this by the author. This is a rerelease, and this trilogy was the first book written by this author just reading these books have made me realize how much I want to delve deeper into this author’s books. I wasn’t sure what would happen in this book but the blurb does give some parts of it away I was so drawn into this one because the mistakes that Genevieve made in book two really come to light in this one but also shows the craftiness of the enemy. I will say that this book is guaranteed to put you through the emotional wringer. Just seeing what this author puts this couple through in this one is so heartbreaking in moments, but it also binds their relationship into something deeper. We see what our heroine is capable of with her growing capabilities, and what the drive of saving your love will motivate you into doing. But we also see the sacrifice of love from our hero and what he is willing to go through for Genevieve so that she is protected. I fell so hard for this book and it kept me up all day reading this one here. Its definitely a story that I know will captivate its readers and seeing what our pair will have to suffer and overcome was an epic journey and absolutely loved what this author built within this finale and delivering such a solid story that won my heart so completely. If you love fantasy romance and want to read more, grab this trilogy up. And make sure you grab up the 2022 released version as they have extra content.

This was a really great conclusion to this trilogy - action packed, but still spicy. I loved the devotion and strength we saw between Gen and Jude. There was definitely a twist I didn’t see coming, and that was really well done by Ms. Cross. There were several questions answered about their pasts (Gen, Jude, Kay, George) that we’ve been wondering about this whole time. And the epilogue was really nice to get a glimpse into the future of their lives. Overall, a very enjoyable series if you love a fantasy based romance story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC and all opinions in this review are my own.
