This has a lot of the key elements I love in regency novels. The broody Duke, the ball. I will say it was fairly light in terms of much actually happening plot wise but that doesn’t detract from a great love story.

Once again, those romance that focus on different members of a family are just eat up. And this was no exception. Although I have started at book 5, so will eventually get around to the others in the series.

It’s clear that the Duke is severely misunderstood, with a heartbreaking reason for him being so aloof.

“People like to be frightened and they like to make myths. Who am I to deprive them of that pleasure”

I did feel like Genevieve was lacking in interaction with other characters, even the conversation with her friends and sister was limited.

Did find the conclusion satisfying with the final confrontation between Alex and Henry.

“He’d come so close to losing her. But he was a gambler, and the legend still held true: the Duke of Falconbridge always won, even when he lost “
