It’s been years since I finished the ice wind dale books. This one reminded me of why. Good fantasy, but very dry fantasy. I enjoy some of the characters and the interactions between them, but i find myself feeling like this was missing something.
A solid Drizzt adventure story. The build up to the Entreri reveal was really fun and had me laughing at how clingy he was and it did some good things. Particularly liked the father-daughter moments with Bruenor and Catti-Brie. Also, Jarlaxle is in it.

God I love legend of Drizzt, he's one of the ages. Feels like the whole site sees his books as popcorn fantasy, as it's easy to fall into that belief, but I'll be damned if his books don't get to me. The book was so entertaining, and I was so engaged with Drizzt, as always.

I’m going to say this is peak Bob so far. Like sure you probably need to read the first six books to love the seventh, but I did and do.
