This book was actually so understandable! I enjoyed the unique (and sometimes quirky) storytelling by Lee, it truly helped me comprehend the paleoanthropological concepts so much better. Each topic is relevant and interesting without forcing a particular viewpoint on you. It’s definitely a book my parents could read!

This book included very interesting topics and loads of theories. Each chapter was an essay on a specific paleo-anthropology topic. But, it became somewhat repetitive as the same information kept coming up on several chapters/essays because of the format of the book. It might have been better if the author tried to organize the material chronologically or systematically.
Anyway, it is a good book for someone that wants to have a light read as an intro in that branch of science. After all, it was written for general audience. If someone has already read a couple of books on that subject, then they might not learn something new.

I quite enjoyed this one. I've seen that some reviews criticize this as being too basic, but even as someone who had graduate level biological anthropology courses, I found it interesting. The essays aren't merely about conveying information, but rather are creating dialogues about them, with us. Plus, I haven't kept up on it all, so I did learn from it.
