The first book in a long time that genuinely made me cry 😭 This was such a beautiful but heartbreaking story.

Two broken people find solace with each other. I loved how you can really see how their relationship develops into something romantic.

I enjoyed the way grief was depicted in here, it felt very realistic and the way we can see different perspectives of people coping with grief.

And I enjoyed the unexpected plot twist, definitely didn’t see that coming.

This was such an amazing read, definitely going on my top reads for 2024!

felt the urge to pick this up and buddy read it because of it getting picked up for an adaptation. it was pretty good!! i will say what did take me out was the mustache twirling villain in the third act. that was so goofy. but it's so passionflix, so of course they'd pick this up just based on that alone.

Highly emotional. The main characters go through a lot of grief/loss in their journey before they find happiness/acceptance and it's a rollercoaster.

I cried a lot.

I am e m o finishing this book. BCC truly has a way to evoke such strong emotions while reading her stories. The characters are flawed yet realistic and easy to get attached to.

My heart shattered, smiled, & swooned throughout this journey of two broken people finding their way back into the light together. It was a beautiful experience watching Tristan and Elizabeth fall in love, but not without their trials I might add. BCC really threw in a few plot twists that I didn't see coming in the end to push that metaphorical knife deeper into my already crushed heart.

"you don't have to be good all the time. it's okay to be hurt sometimes. it's okay to feel lost, like you're wandering around in the dark. it's the bad days that make the good ones so much better."

If you enjoy reading books that make you cry, but also feature a stunning romance- pick this up & pick up this author because she sure knows how to bring the tears!!!

I really wanted to love this book a lot but it was simply okay. This is my first book by this author and I've heard nothing but good things about her and I was excited to read this but overall it was just an okay read. They're was a lot lacking for me in this. Tristan and Elizabeth had do much trauma between the two of them and I really felt for both of them. But the trauma dumping was a bit much at times ngl as well as the pacing of the book. It was really hot and cold to me at times and things escalated really quickly. The conflict at around what I believe is the 80% mark went from 0-100 really fast and the ending of the book felt a bit rushed. I also felt like there wasn't really that much buildup which I felt like there should have been more of that. With that all being said I think it was beautiful how they came together during their darkest period of their lives. I loved Tristians bond with the daughter, especially with the white feathers that was so cute. I will be continuing the series though, I'm not going to let one book put me off lol.
