This story was much different than what I expected from a robot sex book. It raises so many ethical questions, simply through what is happening between the main characters and within Annie’s personal thoughts. I loved that the author did not try to answer those questions for the reader; just left them for us to ponder and discuss. I thought the ending was exactly right.

Ive been wanting to read this book for last few months and finally got my hand on it early September! It was a fun read, especially after watching Companion. However, the book’s pace definitely slowed towards the last third of the book. I honestly was hoping for more from the character’s journey (this is probs just me projecting my human emotions and reactions on Annie like everyone else lol) but the ending was appropriate, just the human in me wanted more.

I wanted a much more sinister ending, but I'll take it! The commentary in this book was done so well. I didn't know I could be so wrapped up in a sex bot's life, but I was plotting for Doug's demise the entire time.

I really like this book and it’s metaphor for a toxic, abusive relationship. I like that Annie is a robot but fully sentient, and that Doug flips back and forth on how he feels about her and if he sees her as a person or not, it’s a really interesting reflection of how a lot of men view and treat women.

Overall, a really well done book. I sped through this one, it didn’t feel like it dragged for even a moment.

I loved this book. The way it explored fragile masculinity, control issues, and other themes was so spot on it gave me a stomachache.
