I don't know why this Crusie novel just hit me right. It was so much fun, I almost went right back to the beginning. Lots of hot fudge with excellent ice cream.

I know this was a collaborative effort and I expected a "he said, she said" chapter structure or a jilted sequencing and was really pleased not to have had that. The story flowed well, the writing seamless. I loved the humour, the action was a hoot and the characters were hilarious.

I had this on my shelf for years as it was from a box of books from my mother who got them from my aunt, my dad's sister. I am now kicking myself for not reading it earlier. It is a great light breezy read for when it's a rainy afternoon and you don't have to do anything.

Jennifer Crusie continues funny with the addition of Bob Mayer for some added suspense and machismo. Sexy, flawed characters, including a food writer with a contract on her head and the weary government hitman protecting her, a lazy bloodhound and an assortment of good secondary characters make for an entertaining read.

I was listening to this in the car - the narration is hilarious - and finished it in paperback format while on vacation in Santa Fe. The perfect light summer read.

4,5 stars =)
A book just AWESOME !!
The life of Agnes was going well so far. She was engaged, the house of her dreams would soon be hers and she had made great progress concerning her anger management. But everything changes when a boy broke into her house ... To steal her dog !! From there, disasters keep coming: the discovery of a secret cellar, the wedding of her best friend's daughter to organize, the mother of her best friend who does everything to sabotage the wedding, the scheming of uncle Joey, Shane aka the delicious hitman who is there to protect her (and more ...), more and more corpses each day, flamingos and Agnes who eventually realizes she has never been so happy ...
Okay, it's official, I'm a HUGE fan of this author !!
The author's style is awesome, full of humor and weird stuff, the plot and subplots are very well done (a good immersion in the murky waters of the Italian mafia ... and much MUCH dead people !!) and I love the characters who are very original, quirky but very endearing ><
I TOTALLY loved Agnes who is very odd (the ultimate weapon aka the frying pan =D), adorable, sometimes scary (sex as anger management ... I love it xD), cute and ultimately very human: no an extraordinary girl with huge talent but just a (almost) normal girl coping with things as she can =) I loved Shane who seems very cold initially and who ultimately proves to be an handsome hitman with a great sense of humor working more or less with the government and have more or less ties to the Mafia ... Very exciting =D The secondary characters are also great (even though she was crazy, Brenna was MAG' !! I never thought she went so far !! And Uncle Joey was sooo funny x))
The ending is perfect, a wonderful happy ending as I like it =)
In short, a nice reading full of laughs to read ABSOLUTLY x)

You can't hold back from loving this book. It's awesome!
With a cranky and fun story, Agnes and the Hitman is bound to get you addicted. Agnes is fun( with her doctor's interventions in her mind) and amazing with a skillet, if you know what I mean, while Shane is cool and calm until Agnes comes into his life (on the soaring wings of a dognapper's misfortune), which is when he has to forget all plans and previous engagements and improvise.
Spoiler He got her an AC! And a bridge! The guy's a god!

It's the perfect kind of book when you want a little break from other series, with just enough humor and twists in the plot to keep you entertained for a few afternoons.
You've got to get round to this one, you'll love it, my friend.

This is the most ridiculous book I’ve ever read. 10/10 would recommend!

Crusie once again doesn't disappoint, and this time has brought an accomplice in on her raucous storytelling. This was my first read of her co-authored books and I was enthralled the entire time. I read practically the entire thing on a plane ride from Puerto Rico to Ohio. I love books that I just can't seem to put down. Her classic formula of sassy and independent, but flawed, woman finds romance in the chaos of a murder mystery is still going strong. I'm definitely ready to read another of these co-authored adventures.
