Manage Your Money like a F*cking Grownup: The Best Money Advice You Never Got

I read this at an airport because I finished my holiday book and this is what my friend had and I have to say it feels good to finish a holiday and feel like you might be able to reset your life a little. Or at least organise it well so you don’t have that weird money related stress creeping into your thoughts every so often. It’s for people who are in their twenties or early thirties but honestly, I am not organised with money so I guess it was for me too. Easy to read, easy to understand, will aim to put it into practice.
As someone who never read books about finance, and this being the first and probably last book I'll read on the topic, I thought it was excellent and very informative. It’s clear, engaging and super practical!
This book is written by someone I would love to be friends with. She calls a spade a spade but in it, gives the most sound and practical financial advice I have ever gotten (And I worked in a bank)
Don't let this book become a dust collector - read some of the chapters applicable to you more than just once to reignite the passion to become the master of your own money.

There are two books I regularly see younger doctors carrying around, sneaking a chapter during a coffee break or between theatre cases. The first is When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi, which I reviewed here. The second is (delightfully titled) Manage Your Money Like a F*cking Grownup by Sam Beckbessinger.
In short, this is one of the most valuable books I have ever read, and I finally feel that I can stop being a slave to the "Middle Class Dream". To read more, click through to the review on my blog, here.

Great tips and advice! An easy read and overall great and insightful book!
I bought this book on Friday, and finished it on Sunday. It’s an easy read complete with swearing and funny anecdotes. Having studied creative writing and worked at 22Seven, Sam has a really great way of explaining and talking about money in an easy to understand manner (even the nasty stuff like tax and insurance).
I can’t recommend this book enough and I wish I had read this book ages ago.
Hopefully it will help you too!

This book is a step in the right direction when it comes to Money Matters and Financial Management for young South Africans!
This book NEEDS to be a staple in every household, before you buy bread, buy this book first...
For yourself.
For your children.
For your partner.
Aargh, even the PET needs to get a load of this stuff!
If you are in your twenties & thirties, equip yourself with this book, and you will definitely make much better decisions when it comes to your money...you will manage your money like a fucking grown up.
PS: The author does swear a lot, but its humorous and not off-putting, the title should definitely be a heads up though.

Really good for those who do not understand money at all (ie tax, investments etc) — Sam explains it all in simple English with no fancy jargons. Highly recommend for anyone between 20-late 30s. I feel blessed that I found this just in time! F*** yeah!
