Volume 1 set the scene and volume two is the u folding of the dark gritty promise of this premise. Though these comics have a tendency to jump from point to point, a bit jarring at times, it is in service of the scope of ideas and world buiding that DIE brings. If this story wasn't beautifuly illustrated by Stephanie Hans, I would favor a book to tell this tale sinply based on the vastness of possibilities within this world. I have a feeling by the time this series ends I am only going to want more.

Very compelling! The third volume will be released two days hence and my internal debate is whether i buy it immediately after reading the others on Hoopla or wait.

The initial arc intrigued me enough about the premise to immediately buy this second volume. I wasn't disappointed, finding a few surprising nods to the history of geek culture that I hadn't known myself. I'm officially invested in the series. I want to know more.
